Reality and How Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep Explains It
Reality is simple but important. The cup of tea we drink in the morning is real; the heat of the ceramic mug in our hands that warms our shivering shoulders and the relaxing aroma of peppermint that puts us at ease exists to us. But if one was to really question anything or everything, they’d wonder if the peppermint’s bite on our tongue was real or if we were really feeling the hotness of the tea or if the heat was coming from somewhere else. And if one was to really inquire about reality, they would have to look at the other side and wonder, well, even if the tea isn’t real, if it gives us relief, holds value in our cold hands, who is to say it isn’t? In the book, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, the author tells a story that helps to show the vagueness, but importance, of understanding our reality.
